Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has antifungal, antibacterial, and antimicrobial properties. Four to six tablespoons of coconut oil should be consumed each day especially when a yeast infection is present. Coconut oil can also be used topically to treat yeast on the skin and in mucus membranes. It contains medium chain fatty acids including Caprylic Acid that destroys yeast fungus. It’s safe to soak a tampon in coconut oil and insert it into the vagina overnight.

Garlic too is an excellent antifungal, antibacterial, and antimicrobial. Cooked garlic tastes great but unfortunately the antifungal properties of garlic are destroyed in the cooking process.
To get the benefits of garlic, start with one clove of freshly-pressed garlic per day.
When using garlic for its antifungal properties, some people crush cloves and then swallow them like vitamins. Garlic can be used topically, and drops and teas can be made from freshly-pressed garlic to treat fungal diseases. Alternatively if fresh garlic is too strong for you then take capsules. Garlic can be made into a tampon and inserted into the vagina overnight.
Get a fresh clove of garlic and peel the papery white skin off it. Next wrap it in a small piece of gauze and tie it at the end with some waxed dental floss, this acts as a tampon string making it easy to insert and remove.

Grapefruit Seed Extract (GSE)
Grapefruit seed extract also has antifungal and antiseptic properties.Plant antifungals are preferred because they do not add to the body’s toxic load. Grapefruit Seed Extract is not only great for Candida but also for other bacteria which accompany Candida. Grapefruit Seed Extract is also effective with other herbal antifungals such as Pao D’arco, garlic, and goldenseal. (Consume antifungals between meals.) Grapeseed extract is available in capsule form.

Oil of Oregano

This oil has many uses, but its antifungal properties make it wonderful in treating Candida. It can be taken internally, or it can be mixed with carrier oils (like coconut or olive oil) for topical use. Pregnant women should not use oil of oregano because it can stimulate the uterus. Breast-feeding women should also avoid it as it can decrease milk supply. Start out with 1 drop of oil of oregano mixed with a little water. (The undiluted oil can be very irritating to mucus membranes). Take this 3 times per day. Over time, increase to as much as 4 drops diluted in water 3 times per day.

Clove Oil

Like oil of oregano, clove oil is effective as a natural antifungal. It can be taken internally, or it can be used topically (although like oil of oregano, it should be mixed with a carrier oil like coconut oil.) Pregnant women should avoid clove oil. Use the same dose as for oregano oil.

Olive Leaf Extract
Olive leaf extract is another effective antifungal and antibacterial. It’s not as strong as Grape Seed Extract or oil of oregano. It is taken as a tonic.

Pau D’arco

Pau d’arco is probably the weakest of the antifungal.  It can be taken as a tea or in capsule form. It is effective in treating Candida, especially if other antifungals are too strong for you.
Pau d’arco tea is a great way to ingest this natural antifungal. Start with 1/2 cup per day and slowly increase your dose to as much as 4 cups per day as tolerated.

Plain, natural yoghurt with no added sugar is the only yoghurt you can use for this method. Make sure it contains live Acidophilus cultures (Lactobacillus Acidophilus). This acidophilus contains good bacteria that helps kill of the yeast. Now you can eat it of course which is recommended, at least a cup per day but it can also be used on and inside the vagina to restore healthy bacteria. The best thing is to dip a tampon into yoghurt and insert it into the vagina overnight. This should be done until the itching is gone. Alternatively you can use a tampon applicator and freeze the yoghurt inside. This frozen yoghurt can then be inserted into the vagina. Now it’s going to be cold but it will be very soothing to that burning and itching and wont take long to melt.
